As the match happened:

First Half:

Everton started off strong as straight off the bat there was an opportunity but it fell to Rachael Laws and she managed to clear the ball. Shortly after the first chance, there was a chance from Everton’s Toni Payne but new recruit Gemma Bonner from Liverpool managed to block it. The opening five minutes had good play from both sides but they kept it inside the middle third.

There were plenty of opportunities for both sides with Toni Payne, Jenna Clark, Marie Hobinger, Sophie Roman Haug, and Fuka Nagano all having chances throughout the opening 20 minutes. Both Managers and Players were vocal throughout the opening 45 minutes of the fixture as both sides looked for an opener.

In the opening 30 minutes, both sides had good runs of play but resulted in nothing. Toni Payne had a cracking opening 45 for everton as she had plenty of chances herself. Towards the end of the opening 45, Gemma Bonner found the ball from the corner but it resulted in finding the hands of Courtney Brosnan. Just before the halftime whistle, Ceri Holland had a shot herself but was also caught by Courtney Brosnan.

Second Half:

Liverpool started off the second half brightly with Taylor Hinds crossing the ball from the left side of the box as it found Keri Holland but nothing was found from it. Just 10 minutes into the second half, Karoline Oleson had her own shot from just inside the box on the right side and Rachel Laws saved which resulted in a corner. The corner from Veatriki Sarri was fired into the box with Rachael Laws failing to secure the catch and dropped it but Liverpool were lucky to escape. Taylor Hinds had another free kick but communication between herself and the rest of the squad was slightly poor as it went out for a corner but failed to put anything forward.

Very shortly after the Taylor Hinds effort before the hour mark, Everton’s Karoline Oleson had a shot from a similar place but it slid past the right post. 59 minutes in, Mia Enderby thought she got a goal for the scousers but the lineswoman puts her flag up for offside after a good run of play from the reds. During the second half, both sets of fans were more vocal compared to the first half as well as both sets of managers.

After coming on at half-time, Mia Enderby was a catalyst for the majority of the Liverpool action in the second half. Enderby was a problem for everton as she continually had chances but failed to find the back of the net throughout the duration of the second half. In the 67th minute, there was a free kick for the red side of merseyside but that also failed to find the back of the net. Both Leanne Kiernan and Mia Enderby remained to be the most important players for Liverpool throughout the second 45 as a Mia Enderby shot found the wrong side of the post after a cross from Leanne Kiernan. There were multiple clearances throughout to keep both sides still in it and liverpool continued to put everton through their paces but it remained 0-0.
