International Break: Which sides to keep an eye on throughout the week.

There are many international sides having friendlies but also many are battling it out for a place at next year's EUROS in Switzerland. All times for matches are UK time. 


England: 

After securing their place in the 2025 Women’s EUROS, England have two friendlies coming up in their international break. They first host Germany as a repeat of the 2022 EURO Final at Wembley with the game on Friday 25th October at 7.30PM.

They then host South Africa in Coventry at the Coventry Building Society Arena with kick-off at 7.45PM on Tuesday 29th October. If you are a fan of many WSL players, you could see some in action over the duration of the games. 


Wales: 

Wales are in the European Qualifiers for the 2025 EUROS as they face Slovakia in a two legged game. They first are away from home as they travel to Slovakia with the game at 4.30PM on Friday 25th October.


In the second leg, they return home in Cardiff on Tuesday 29th October with kickoff commencing at 7.15PM. Many players are from Bristol City as well as various other Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship so keep an eye on the players you want to. 


Scotland: 

Scotland are the same as many of the UK sides as they are also competing in European Qualifiers. The side face Hungary as they travel away before returning back home to Easter Road in Edinburgh. Kick off for their away match in the first leg is at 5.15PM on Friday 25th October with the return fixture at Easter Road kicking off at 7.35PM on Tuesday 29th October. Many players are from the Women’s Super League, Women’s Championship and the Women’s Scottish Premier League so many people will know their faces. 


Northern Ireland: 

Northern Ireland, like many of the United Kingdom Sides, are in the European Qualifiers. They face Croatia in a two legged time with their first match away from home on Friday 25th October at 6PM with their reverse fixture on Tuesday 29th October with kick off at 7PM. Like many of the UK sides, they have many recognisable faces that are in both the Women’s Super League as well as the Women’s Championship. 


Ireland:

Ireland are competing in the European Qualifiers as well with the girls in green facing Georgia both home and away. Their first leg is away against the side with them playing at 5PM on Friday 25th October.


The reverse fixture is at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday 29th October at 7.30PM. Ireland are one of the more recognisable teams as many play in the Women’s Super League and the Women’s Championship so everyone will know at least one player. 


Australia: 

Australia play a group of friendlies against Switzerland and Germany with both matches being away from home. They first face Switzerland at the Stadion Leizigrund with a kick off at 7PM. 


They then travel to Germany to the Schauinsland-Reisen Stadium as they play on Monday 28th October with kick-off at 5.10PM. Many matildas players play in England in the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship so there will be recognisable faces.

Germany:

Germany, like many other sides, have friendlies over the international break as they travel to England and then host Australia. They first face England at Wembley for a repeat of the 2022 final of which they hope to win this match up with kick off at 7.30PM on Friday 25th October. They next host Australia at the Schauinsland-Reisen with kick off at 5.10PM on Monday 28th October. 


Netherlands: 

Netherlands are taking part in friendlies over the international break as they host Indonesia and travel to Denmark. Indonesia travel to Netherlands as they face each other at the Stadion de Vijverberg on Friday 25th October with a kickoff at 7.45PM. 


They then take the short trip to Denmark as they go to the Blue Water Arena for a kickoff at 5PM on Monday 28th October. There are many individuals that are playing for the Dutch national team that also play for a Women’s Super League side or in the Women’s Championship and therefore you might recognise a few faces. 


United States: 

Emma Hayes United States’ have two friendlies in two different stadiums. They face Iceland in both the matchups as they have one in Nashville and one in Texas. They first face them at the Q2 stadium in texas with a kick off at 12.30AM for UK viewers on Friday 25th October.

They then face them again at GEODIS Park in Nashville with kick off at 9.30PM on Sunday 27th October. Many People will recognise the names in the US Roster and especially because they will recognise the old manager of Chelsea, Emma Hayes.


Spain: 

After securing a place at the EUROs in 2025, Spain will feature in two friendlies against Canada and Italy. They first host Canada on Friday 25th October with a 9PM kick off at the Estadio francisco de la hara in Almendralejo. 


They will then take a short trip to Italy as they face them at the Stadio rome o menta on Tuesday 29th October with a kick off at 5.15PM. Spain are currently world champions and faced England in the Women’s World Cup and therefore many individuals will recognise the names of the champions.
